Travel Tips & Necessities

Traveling is one of the most exciting things that we can do, so much so that if your like me, you love to plan in advance(My suitcase has been packed for a month now). As I'll be leaving for England this month for the fourth time I thought I'd put together some tips for first time flyers and what I take with me on board my flight.
If your a first time flyer or flying on your own, which I've had to do multiple times, it is honestly not as bad as you think. Flying, and navigating your way through an airport is easier than catching a bus in my opinion, and you shouldn't ever feel lost. Trying to stay awake through your flights is a bad idea, I did this and almost fell asleep on a bench at an airport in Vietnam and when I looked up everyone had already boarded. Who you are seated next to isn't to much of a problem to be honest. Flying can be fun, and whether you choose to or not, you can meet some amazing people. My last trip I was seated to girl in a similar situation as myself(both in long distance relationships) and we got talking most of the flight- which is always fun.

As for food on the plane, you only get fed a few times and in between that you can get the serious munchies so always buy a few snacks to take with you. The amount of times I've felt like a seagull waiting for the food to come down the isle is embarrassing... I've learnt my lesson now.

Trying to fit all your makeup and skincare necessities into one bag can be daunting. The bag that I've always used is this travel case from Caudalie that comes with travel sized samples of products which I've used up but you can purchase it here. In my travel bag I carry Revvies Energy Strips which is basically a shot of caffeine that is in the form of a strip that you put on your tongue. It is the equivalent to having a cup of coffee and helps with having to stay awake during your travels. I'm also taking a little mini version of the Nuxe Prodigieux Body Oil along with my Loccitane Neroli & Orchidee Body Milk which I'm absolutely obsessed with and smells amazing- both will help with keeping my skin hydrated throughout the flight.
Your skin becomes very dry and dehydrated through long haul flights so I like to go all out when it comes to my skincare, I basically give myself a mini facial multiple times throughout the flight. It's something I really look forward to. For my upcoming trip I'm taking a few small sample sizes of products that I've received throughout the past few months. The Creme Simon Clarifant Detox Mask is a product I've used before and absolutely love. It's an overnight mask that has the consistency of a gel moistuirser which you apply and sleep in through the night. It is perfect for long flights because it really does lock in hydration. As for serum, and moistuiser I'm opting for something I haven't tried before and that is the Renewed hope in a jar and Time in a bottle which are both from Philosophy. Have any of you tried these products? I'd love to see what you think of them. Let me know in the comments.

Happy Travels!

  14. I'm always taking snacks on a flight. I try to become friends with the air hostesses so that they give me more snacks. it works on some airlines better than others though. i cannot deal with doing skincare on the plane though. I tend to make sure my hands and lips stay hydrated and then just moisturize like crazy when I finally get to where I'm headed.

  17. Excellent tips! I didn't bring snacks on the plane this time and regretted it! I think the flight attendants thought I was annoying :P
