New in Beauty: First Impressions From Rimmel

Hello lovely people. Sorry I've been absent from the blogging world- I've been incredibly busy trying to navigate my way towards moving across the world and starting university, so everything is still finding its place, time-wise. However, I think I'm getting there! I've recently been kindly sent some new beauty bits from Rimmel to give a whirl and I thought I'd share them with you guys. A first impressions if you like. I'm all for finding drugstore alternatives to some of my favourite products, and a few of these are definitely up there. Rimmel have recently brought out quite a few new products into the market as of late, and if your a drugstore devotee you'll most definitely want to check these out.

So first in the base products department we have two new products that I was excited to try. Truth be told, I've never ever tried a BB cream until now. If that isn't a beauty blogger sin I don't know what is. Inevitably I had no preconceived notions on what a good BB cream entailed, so I just tested this out without having any expectations. The Rimmel Radiance BB Cream* is marketed as a light weight base product that provides an overal radiance and lumiocisity to the skin, so if you are a fan of matte finishes that keep your oils at bay, then this one wouldn't be for you. However, it really does work well for a natural makeup look, and lasts decently. I think I understand the hype with BB creams now, it offers decent coverage without feeling like your wearing anything. One thing that I've also never tried are powdered foundations. However the Rimmel Lasting Finish Powder Foundation* truthfully didn't do it for me. It's far to drying for my skin, and if worn on top of my foundation as a setting powder it just comes out a little to cakey for my liking. I wouldn't call it bad, but just not suited for my skin whatsoever.

Rimmel have also come out with a new line of Oh My Gloss!* Lipglosses which promise 6 hour wear. However, I would say they don't last the whole six hours and definitely need a touch up but that is to be expected from lip glosses. However, Love Bug has become my every day nude staple- this girl is not afraid of a little bit of glitter! Along with the glosses is their new Scandaleyes X-Xtreme Volume and Length Mascara* which has a curved plastic wand that creates voluminous and separated lashes. It is very similar to Benfit's Roller Lash mascara in terms of the brush, and the overall finish of the lashes. If your wanting to try something that is very similar in affect, and for half the price then this one is great for that!
That is all for now. Hope you all have a lovely week! :)

  4. I've tried this BB cream before and it just didn't work with my oily skin, such a shame because I really want to get into BB creams but I just can't find one to work for me.

  9. I've been using body shop's bb cream quite a lot recently but would like it to give me more of a matte finish so will definitely be looking into the Rimmel one when I finish my tube up. I've been lusting after rollerlash for agesss now so I'm so glad I've read that this could be a potential dupe!

  12. I really like Rimmel products, they would have to be one of my favourite drugstore make-up brands. From the pictures i'm not a massive fan of the lipglosses but love bug looks like a nice simply everyday one. If it's ever on sale I might have to give it a purchase :) x

  14. Hoping everything is going well for your big move and leap into uni! <3

I love this review! BB Creams have always been my go to skin makeup product, and that Rimmel one sounds amazing! I've only ever been using Korean brands (current fave is Holika Holika) because they suit my skin type and tone better (Asian skin woots!) but I do want to try out this one!
