Natural Beauty Products That Are Worth Knowing

One thing that many people seem to forget or are quite unaware of(myself included) is that our skin is our largest organ. This means that what we lather onto our skin has an impact on our health. In saying that, I don't completely abide by this, and occasionally put this idea on the back-burner. However if I'm able to get my hands on products that are of the organic variety then I'll definitely switch for the natural alternative, granted it still does the same job of course. So in saying that here are some beauty products that are better for you, both for their use, and ethically.
Recently I've been trying out different body scrubs but this Puretopia Glowingly Smooth Body Polish* has been a definite contender as one of my favourites (I just finished the bottle much to my dismay!)This gentle scrub containing acai berry and guarana works to polish away dead skin, and any traces of daily pollution. It really does work well and smells amazing. If you've ever eaten those miniature coke bottle lollies which they sell in Australia it smells exactly like that! I've tried quite a few products from their line, but the Refresh and Balance Facial Mist Toner* stood out to me from the rest. Containing Aloe, to smooth, witch hazel to purify and vitamin C for brightening it really does make a different when my skin is feeling lackluster. You can even spray it on top of your make up for a pick me up! Another favourite in the skincare route has been the Antipodes Joyous Protein Rich Night Replenish Serum. This has been a favourite of mine when my skin has been feeling dull and dry. It really helps to reduce and repair that dry skin as it is high in essential fats. I'm not in love with the smell of this one but it really does work well.
In terms of makeup application their has definitely been a gap in makeup tools and finding an all encompassing company that sells high quality synthetic professional makeup brushes that are both fur-free and vegan friendly. So when I was kindly sent the Furless Black Beauty Makeup Brush Set* I was excited to try it out. It comes with three face brushes, and five eye shadow brushes which are really great quality. It also comes in a vegan leather case which is absolutely perfect for traveling and that I still use to this day. Lastly, one of my favourite natural lipsticks at the moment; in the shade Naughty from Red Apple Lipstick*. It is both gluten free, and paraben free and still such a incredibly pigmented and long lasting lipstick. Definitely quite pleasantly surprised with this one!

  4. When it comes to natural beauty, I go straight to the source. Instead of buying coconut oil enriched hair masks, I use coconut oil as a hair mask! Much much cheaper, completely all natural and works like a dream!

I have to be honesty, although I like the idea of using organic/natural products, it's something I forget to look out for. All these picks look lovely though - especially love that lipstick, the shade is perfect :)

  25. I really am interested in trying more natural and organic makeup; I even majored in Enviro studies in uni. But the price and accessibility of the items are definitely the largest obstacle. I love trying out new skincare and makeup items, and can't always justify spending a lot of money on organic makeup that has a shorter shelf life, and is out of the way to find. Maybe in a few more years, it will be even better!
