The Perfect Pair: Hourglass and Nars

With the new Hourglass palettes coming out very soon I wanted to pay homage to the beauty that started it all and that is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. This product has been on many beauty addicts wishlists for quite some time. One of the things I noticed once I had it in my hands was that I wasn't entirely sure if, or how well it worked. So I wanted to create a quick to the point review,  on why the Hourglass ambient lighting palette is my go-to beauty product when I'm wanting flawless looking skin.

What it does
Ever feel like your in a restaurant or somewhere with really harsh lighting and the light seems to enhance all the features that you want to be subsided, not highlighted? Well, when using any of the three powders it blends into the skin to create and mimic the most flattering types of light. Now I can truthfully say, it's not magic but it does however improve the look of your skin in harsh lighting which I have tested for myself and I've noticed quite a difference when having used the powders.
How to use it
The palette consists of three powders - Radiant Light, Dim Light and Incandescent Light all having different purposes which I'll go into below. However, the way that I like to apply them is using the Nars Yachiyo Kabuki brush. A lot of people use this make up brush to apply blush but I find that it works really well to apply the product to the face as it allows for a light application since the powder is so finely milled it wont pick up a lot of product and give that 'caked faced' look.

Radiant Light: This powder is the darkest of them all and works great for warming up the skin and adding a bronzed glow without seeming like you've gone crazy on the bronzer. I like to use this before I contour to act as a transition colour so that whatever I contour with isn't such a harsh line.

Incandescent Light: The past few years we seem to have gone highlighter crazy. This powder is great for creating a luminous glow to the skin when used on the tops of your cheekbones, your cupids bow and well,  anywhere you damn please! This pearly coloured highlighter is absolutely gorgeous and will instantly perk up your complexion.

Dim Light: This powder is probably the pièce de résistance of the whole palette. I like to use this with my Nars Yachiyo brush and apply it to my under eye area to set it as well as all over the rest of my face to make it appear flawless. You'll only understand what I mean if you've tried it yourself! Its simply beautiful.

Have any of you tried it?

  11. I haven't tried this yet, but I really want to! I'm unsure whether or not a luminizer could make my pores look bigger, though.

By the way, I'm having a MeMeBox giveaway, and the prize is phenomenal. It ends later tonight, so I hope that you'll participate if you haven't yet! ChicAndAlluring.com
