Make Up Products That Help Achieve a Natural Summer Glow

Out with the mattes, its all about the dewy, highlighted skin this season and with summer approaching here in Australia, I wanted to share with you all my go to make up products that help achieve a beautiful summer glow.

Mac Strobe Creme:
 Its all about the base.
This is my holy grail product when it comes to creating skin that glows from within. It acts as a base to your foundation and allows even matte foundation to have a subtle glow without encouraging oil production. It is inflected with tiny particles of shimmer- and I'm talking tiny to the point where it is unnoticeable but there really is a difference to the look of your skin. If you have those days where you feel like your skin is lacklustre and dull this is the product for you. It can be applied before foundation as a base, or even on its own to create a even glow to the face.

Nars Sheer Glow: Lets talk foundations. What better way to introduce a product that helps achieve a beautiful summer glow with the name itself 'glow'. I have tried a lot of foundations over the years and I find that Nars Sheer Glow as a foundation allows your skin to look radiant and dewy, I find that this product is my go to foundation for the summer as it creates enough coverage without being too heavy. This, in conjunction with mac strobe creme and you've got yourself a beautiful base.

Mary-Lou Manizer: This one is new to my collection and must I say, definitely worth the hype that surrounds it. It is the most pigmented highlighter that I've used thus far, The other highlighters mentioned are more pink toned but this one has reflects of gold which helps create a more sunkissed glow from the sun. Apply it to your cheekbones and you've got one lovely glow going on.

Nyx Liquid Illuminator: For those of you wanting a more subtle highlight, without feeling like your wearing too much makeup, this one is for you. The Nyx Liquid Illuminator is great for creating glow to your face, and I find that this highlighter, because it is a liquid consistency looks great even on bare skin and creates a natural finish.

Bourjois Bronzing Powder: We can't talk summer skin without mentioning woman's best friend: Bronzing powder. This one from bourjois not only smells and looks like chocolate but it is by far my favourite drug store bronzer, I even find it comparable to Nars Laguna, and sometimes  even prefer it- which says a lot (avid Nars supporter here). Apply this to your hollows of your cheeks and around the perimeter of your face and you are sure to be glowing by now.

Nars Orgasm Blush:  This blush is pink toned and inflected with gold shimmer to finish it all giving you that 'flushed' glow from within.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette: Lastly, for all of you who think that this is too many products to create a summer glow then this might be for you. The Urban Decay Flushes palette is a three in one combination of bronzer, highlighter and blush and they all work beautifully together to create a flushed base, perfect for travelling and on the go.

  4. First, I have to say I am insanely jealous that summer is approaching for you we are waiting on dismal winter here in NY. And lovely post! I agree a dewy, bronzed look is much better than a matte look.

I love Nars illuminator and blush too. I alternate putting one on top of the other depending if it is day or night. Do you put illuminator on with your hand or a brush?

    1. I'll be heading to England in December for two months so I'll be experiencing the winter with you! :) I like to use brushes with powder illuminators, but the nyx one I find works best with using your fingers to apply it :) Thanks for reading elise!

    1. I think you could still get away with using these products in the winter to give the false allusion that you are some what sun kissed! I do it :) Thank you so much for reading and nominating me I'll check out your blog now :)

  11. It's so surreal reading posts on beautiful dewy summer skin when the UK's autumnal winds are destroying my skin! The Urban Decay palette is a fantastic idea and has once again reminded me that I don't own any Urban Decay products - madness! Have a lovely weekend, Georgia :)
